PASTOR WILLIS MOERER
Both
my wife Betty and I were born in Nebraska and spent our early
years there. We have been blessed with three children and six
grand children. I graduated from Wartburg College, Waverly,
Iowa, and received my theological training at Wartburg
Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA. Our first call was to begin
a Mission Church in La Habra, CA. We started Emanuel Lutheran
Church and served there for 18 years. We then accepted the call
to Ascension Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks, CA and served
there for 24 years until retirement in 2001. During retirement
we have served as Interim Pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church
in Ojai, CA.
Starting our ministry on
January 1, at Bethel, and working with Pastor Lee has been an
exciting experience. I have thought, before us lies a brand new
year with 365 bright fresh days, each abound in hope waiting for
us to possess. In spite of the uncertainty of life, we have from
our heavenly Father His promise; "For surely I know the plans I
have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for
your harm, to give you a future with hope." Jeremiah 29:11.
New opportunities are
before us. It was God's marvelous grace given to us in Jesus
Christ that has brought us through thus far. Tomorrow is in His
mighty hand. He will lead us day by day. May we together
experience the thrill of following Jesus the best we are able.
